The 4 baffles on each side of the MDT Comp Brake are designed with staggered angles and serrations that cause turbulence and disperse propellant gas energy progressively through the brake, producing greatly reduced concussion and a smooth, consistent recoil impulse without the sharp spike of a simpler brake design. 6 Tuneable Top Venting Ports | Adjustable Muzzle Rise Control
The MDT Comp Brake features 6 tuneable top venting ports with a stainless steel slider mechanism that allows the shooter to open or close the upward-facing ports to tune the degree of muzzle rise during firing. Opening the top ports increases vertical gas venting for a flatter shooting experience. Closing the ports reduces the downward muzzle push for a more neutral tracking feel. This allows optimisation for specific 6.5mm loads, shooter preference, and stage requirements.

Forward-Facing Disruptor Ports | Concussion Directed Away from Shooter
The MDT Comp Brake includes forward-facing disruptor ports that actively direct muzzle gas forward and away from the shooter and spotter. This is the defining feature that separates the MDT Comp Brake from most competing designs, which redirect gas laterally and create significant blast at the shooter’s position. The 6.5mm bore produces less blast than .308 calibre, making the disruptor port design even more effective at keeping the shooting position comfortable for extended competition use.
