The MDT Comp Brake features 6 tuneable top venting ports with a stainless steel slider mechanism that allows the shooter to open or close the upward-facing ports to tune the degree of muzzle rise during firing. Opening the top ports increases vertical gas venting to push the muzzle down more aggressively for a flatter shooting experience. Closing the ports reduces the downward muzzle push for a more neutral tracking feel. This tuneable system allows the shooter to optimise the brake for their preferred load, shooting style, and stage requirements.

Forward-Facing Disruptor Ports | Concussion Directed Away from Shooter
The MDT Comp Brake includes forward-facing disruptor ports that actively direct muzzle gas forward and away from the shooter and adjacent spotters. This is the defining feature that separates the MDT Comp Brake from most competing designs, which redirect gas laterally and create significant concussion blast at the shooter’s position. The disruptor port design allows the MDT Comp Brake to be used in squad bays and on firing lines without the shooter’s neighbour being significantly affected by blast.

The MDT Comp Brake includes a self-timing lock nut that indexes the brake to the correct rotational position during installation and locks it in place, reducing the run-out and misalignment that can shift point of impact when a brake is removed and refitted.
