Howa M1500 Mini Action Barrelled Action – 6mm ARC | 20″ Blued Heavy Barrel | Threaded with Cap

The Howa M1500 Mini Action 6mm ARC Barrelled Action with 20″ blued heavy barrel is a Japanese-manufactured precision barrelled action built around Howa’s dedicated Mini Action receiver — purpose-designed for AR-15-length cartridges including the 6mm ARC — in a shorter, more rigid action than a standard short action. Featuring a cold-hammer-forged heavy barrel threaded with a thread cap, HACT two-stage trigger, and three-position safety in a matte blued finish, the Howa M1500 Mini Action 6mm ARC barrelled action is the ideal foundation for a custom precision chassis build, lightweight hunting rifle, or suppressed precision platform in one of the most versatile and ballistically capable modern intermediate rifle cartridges.

Note: This is a barrelled action only. No stock is included. Compatible with Howa M1500 Mini Action stocks and chassis systems. Remington 700 two-piece scope bases fit the Mini Action receiver. Purchase of firearms in South Africa requires a valid firearms licence and compliance with the Firearms Control Act.

Why the Howa M1500 Mini Action 6mm ARC is the Ultimate Compact Precision Build Platform

Mini Action — Shorter, Stiffer, and Lighter than a Standard Short Action
The Howa M1500 Mini Action receiver is designed specifically for cartridges no longer than the .223 Remington family, allowing Howa to build a receiver that is meaningfully shorter and stiffer than a standard short action receiver. The reduced bolt travel improves cycling speed, the shorter receiver saves weight for lightweight builds, and the added rigidity of the compact action contributes directly to consistent accuracy. The Mini Action is the correct action size for the 6mm ARC, 6.5 Grendel, and .223 Remington — fitting these cartridges into a receiver optimised for their case length rather than adapting them to a longer short action.

6mm ARC — Precision Ballistics in an AR-15-Length Package
The 6mm ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge) was developed by Hornady in collaboration with US Special Operations Command as a cartridge that delivers long-range precision ballistics from an AR-15 platform. In the Howa M1500 Mini Action bolt action, the 6mm ARC delivers its full ballistic potential with the added benefits of bolt action accuracy, a controlled round feed bolt, and the option to run suppressed without the cycling reliability concerns of a gas-operated semi-automatic. The 6mm ARC shoots flat, bucks wind effectively, and retains energy at extended ranges significantly better than .223 Remington or 6.5 Grendel.

Cold-Hammer-Forged 20″ Blued Heavy Barrel — 1:8″ Twist Rate
The Howa M1500 Mini Action heavy barrel is cold-hammer-forged steel in a heavy varmint profile, finished in matte blue. The 20″ length optimises muzzle velocity for the 6mm ARC cartridge while keeping the overall package compact, and the heavy profile improves barrel stiffness and heat management during extended shooting sessions. The 1:8″ twist rate is the correct stabilisation rate for the full range of 6mm ARC projectiles from 87 to 110 grain, including the heavier high-BC bullets that define the cartridge’s long-range performance advantage.

Threaded Muzzle with Thread Cap — Suppressor and Muzzle Device Ready
The Howa M1500 Mini Action 6mm ARC barrel is threaded at the muzzle with a thread cap included. The threaded muzzle allows direct fitment of suppressors, muzzle brakes, and compensators without gunsmithing, making the M1500 Mini Action a ready-to-suppress precision platform out of the box.

HACT Two-Stage Trigger — Precision-Focused Factory Trigger
The Howa M1500 Mini Action barrelled action includes the HACT (Howa Actuator Controlled Trigger) two-stage trigger system. Self-contained and attached to the receiver via a single Allen screw, the HACT delivers a clean, predictable two-stage pull preferred by precision shooters who want a defined take-up stage before a crisp break, with minimal overtravel. The trigger is adjustable for pull weight.

Three-Position Safety for Safe Field Handling
The Howa M1500 Mini Action features a three-position safety on the right side of the receiver: forward for fire, middle for bolt operation with trigger locked, and rear for full bolt and trigger lock during safe carry.

Drilled and Tapped Receiver — Compatible with Remington 700 Bases
The Howa M1500 Mini Action receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting and is compatible with standard Remington 700 two-piece scope bases, giving access to the widest range of aftermarket optics mounting solutions available for any bolt action platform.
