The Howa M1500 6.5 PRC 24″ heavy barrel is cold-hammer-forged steel in a heavy varmint contour, finished in matte blue. Cold-hammer forging produces a barrel with superior dimensional consistency, a harder bore surface, and longer service life compared to button-rifled alternatives. The 1:8″ twist rate stabilises the full range of 6.5 PRC projectiles from 120 to 156 grains, including the heavy, high-BC bullets that define the cartridge’s long-range advantage.
